Little Miss Sunshine

This textbook 'dysfunctional family go on road trip' film ticks all the boxes. However, it leaps above its competitors by throwing plenty of surprises into the mix and giving every character a set of foibles and eccentricities so bizarre and humorous that there are a number of genuine laugh-out-loud moments.

There's the coke-snorting granddad, the son who has refused to speak for nine months and the mum who serves up boxes of chicken onto paper plates for dinner every night. However, they're all overshadowed by the superbly depicted daughter, Olive, who dreams of becoming a beauty queen. Don't miss it!
